The 14th and 15th of October would have been one of the best weekends, weather wise, around in quite sometime. Although I was working most of both days, driving along the towns esplanade, I pulled over and climbed down to the beach, just to look at the view. It was high tide, in the shade, waves gently crashing, not a soul to be seen. It was truly a great scene.
The whole experience got me thinking, no wonder Hervey Bay is Australia's number one growing town! Hervey Bay experiences great weather like this all year round. To my advantage, I had my camera phone with me, so below are some shots taken. I did infact take a video, but forgot to save it, so only pictures for today.
So While I was taking these pictures, and taking in the scenic surroundings, I was thinking of other poor Australians who had to deal with their surroundings..
Poor Ole Victorians and their terrible weather and climate!
Sydney and it's smog! - "Sydney the smog capital!"
Well, It's old news now about Steve Irwin. It is a terrible thing for a young person to die with young children. I do know personally people in the same scenario, but the mother died, with three young kids under 5. Died from a freak accident..
Regardless, There are some things that need to keep in mind... That was Steves job! He was so popular, because he risked his life for show. A good quote to keep in mind;
And, because I like to be an Ass some times, I've heard two Steve Irwin Jokes already.. Sorry to those who take offence...Those who play with fire, do get burned.
You never know when your card is delt
- Maybe Steve should have put on more sunscreen to protect him from the rays
- What does Steve Irwin and a Night Club Drink have in common? - They're both spiked..
Sorry to those who find them offensive - but - I've heard them
For all students in Queensland, It's nearly time to be into the QCS Exams. It starts 9am on Tuesday Morning. For all of those who are no in Yr12 and In QLD, Australia..
What is the QCS Test?
The QCS Test is:
- a common statewide test for Queensland Year 12 students
- an achievement test, not an intelligence test, nor an aptitude test
- grounded in the Queensland senior curriculum
- accessible to all Year 12 students regardless of individual differences in subject patterns.
What does it test?
It tests the 49 common elements that are the threads of the Queensland senior curriculum. These elements are called Common Curriculum Elements (CCEs).
The 49 elements are also listed in this PDF: Common Curriculum Elements (PDF 38K).
While the level of sophistication demanded by the test is appropriate to Year 12 students, particular knowledge of specific Year 12 subjects is not tested.
However, the test assumes basic levels of general knowledge and vocabulary and a Year 10 knowledge of mathematical operations.
What is the purpose of the test?
The QCS Test provides:
- individual results reported on a five-point scale
- group results for calculating Overall Positions (OPs) which are independent of subjects studied or school attended
- group results for calculating Field Positions (FPs).
