My last laptop, the Dell Latitude, only ever had a 40gig HDD, and that was fine. My new macbook has a 60. Great I'll be able to do video editing and everything.......... WRONG.. It's always annoyed me that I've never had much space on the machine. So tonight I get out the Maths books and have a look how much storage is used up by the MacOS.

I firstly looked in the "Library Folder" - this was 12.5 gig
I looked in the "System Folder" - this was 1.5gig

That's already 14 GIG!!!!!!

I look on my current Windows XP machine that I've had running for over a year, and the C:\Windows folder is only 4GIG. That has all my drivers and everything from a year!

That's  pretty crappy to have 14gig lost automatically on system..

- 14 gig for system
41 gig available
- 5 gig for programs
36 gig available
- 3 gig pics
33 gig available
- 3 music
30 gig avilable

What a waste... I need to go buy an external drive already..

After being a dell user for along time, and now a macbook owner, there is one thing that dell has over the macbook. Comfort. Using the latitude was comfy.. the front of the machine ,where your palms rest is rounded and soft. On the Macbook it is 90 degrees and sharp..

Using my Latitude  D600 today got my thinking about that, and yes, its so much nicer that the sharp macbook! Think about that mac!
